The entire piece was woven by one artisan. Achieving this level of precision demands considerable skill, patience, and time—a standard that is difficult to reproduce. Creating another piece of comparable complexity takes longer than weaving simpler designs.
AZAL worked directly with the weaver, supporting her financially and encouraging the continuation of her craft. Mirth is part of our effort to keep demanding weaving traditions present in today’s homes and market, giving the women who sustain them recognition and paid work.
