Strata Kilim is a one-of-a-kind handwoven Moroccan flatweave rug, created by Amazigh women of the Beni M’Guild region in Morocco’s Middle Atlas.
Woven from wool using traditional techniques passed down through generations, its geometric composition of diamonds, chevrons and linear motifs belongs to a visual language deeply rooted in Amazigh weaving traditions.
The name Strata refers to layers — layers of pattern, memory and craftsmanship carried through time. The geometric language found in Beni M’Guild textiles echoes forms that can be traced far back through North African visual culture, giving this piece a remarkable connection between ancient heritage and contemporary design.
Its palette of earthy brown, warm beige, ivory and deep dark-brown tones gives the rug a natural, grounded character, while the precise geometric composition feels distinctly modern. This balance makes Strata equally at home in contemporary, minimalist, rustic or eclectic interiors.
